We play! 22 months old

Two fun ideas: what to do with your toddler this month.

The chef recommends ...

Who knows? Maybe her toddler is on her way to the head chef? Promote your child's evolving culinary arts by sizzling and frying in an imaginary kitchen.

Which skills are supported? Fantasy, fine and gross motor skills
What do you need? Different cooking pots and lids, a selection of wooden spoons

Sit down together on the floor, pots and spoons spread out in front of you. Act as if you put different ingredients in the pots - one big handful, one pinch from the other. And now it is tasted! You can also play "too hot, sour, cold." Your toddler will find it funny and eager to join in. Taste the dish with new ingredients until you both agree: the food is perfect!

Robot parents

Transform yourself into a robot while providing great entertainment for your toddler! They are a machine that performs various actions at the touch of a button. Your little one will find this incredibly funny - and at the same time learn something about the cause and effect principle.

Which skills are supported? Motor skills, imagination, understanding of cause and effect
What do you need? Nothing

To really transform yourself into a robot, walk around in the room, moving your arms, legs, and head as jerkily as a machine. Explain to your toddler that you are a robot. Bend down to your child and demonstrate some of your robot functions: Press your index finger on your nose and at the same time stick out the tongue. Then pull on your right ear and move the tongue to the right. The same works with the left ear! Repeat the sequences and soon your little one will want to try out the robot himself! There are no limits to your imagination: invent further robot functions. The important thing is that your child can clearly assign cause and effect.
