Big Sister/Little Sister shirts

During my pregnancy, making big sister and little sister shirts was high on my nesting to-do list. The designs I found online were too cutesy for me, so I made my own. Designing it was the easy part. Ironing it onto a t-shirt proved to be too advanced for me. Three shirts, 2 onesies, and an entire package of T-shirt transfer paper later, I had to ask my husband to give it a try. He did a wonderful job:

I put the designs (as well as the Big Brother/Little Brother versions) up on Zazzle. If you like them, you can order them here.

seahorsesMy new baby seemed to need something to help her fall asleep. We wanted to start putting her in her crib semi-awake so she wouldn’t be dependent on us rocking her to sleep all the time. That didn’t work out so well. I came across this Seahorse and thought it was worth a shot.

Best.Thing.Ever!

This little seahorse is cute and cuddly. Push on the belly and the seahorse glows and begins to play music. It plays 8 lullabies with a nice bubbly sound in the background. After 5 minutes the music fades and the light dims before shutting off completely. It has 2 volume settings as well as an off switch.

I think the volume, even on the lower setting, is still a bit too loud, but it doesn’t seem to bother Lily. Without fail, I put Lily in her crib, turn on the seahorse, and she’s out by the time the music stops. It works so well that my 4-year old started stealing it out of Lily’s crib for her bedtime. Since I could see some sibling competition happening in the future, I got Amelia a pink one.
